The bracket on the handlebar has only marginally improved over the previous version in my opinion (scroll wheel instead of clamps). But since I had no problems during installation even with the old version, which is only a small improvement point. The scroll wheel can be operated well and tighten. Thus, the lamp sits very firmly on the handlebars. I now give a bit of messing around was necessary a slightly tapered handlebar. However, the supplied rubber Trips splendid assistance in different diameters. For proper height adjustment I needed a couple of night driving. Only too low, then too high but at some point it has then fitted.
The illumination by the 80 lux lamp opposite the Lux 40 is enormous. It is not really bright, but the beam of light is much broader. Thus, one does not have a narrow cone of light in front of him but a wide illuminated area of also further extends considerably than that 40 lux lamp. A normal cycle path or forest trail is thus well lit. Hence cornering is safer. The straight beam of 40 lux lamp has the disadvantage that you can not really see at a curve where one breaks forth. This is the new lamp differently. Through its wide beam and a wide range is illuminated in the curve which I find very helpful.
The operation has remained the same. Switch on by pressing and holding the black button. Switching from normal light to high beam and back by pressing the button. This works without any problems with me. Even with the old lamp for about 4 years now there's nothing to complain about. I am every day about 70-80 minutes by bike go where I'm going with high beams about 20 25 minutes through a wooded area. The batteries I invite times in a week. That's enough problems. The supplied AC adapter to charge the batteries I use for both lamps. Carefully remove the splash guard and plug it in. A fumbling is that under any circumstances. If the batteries are fully charged the charger switches off automatically. If you see, because the LEDs go out.
I have often read that the light would blind. Now I can not confirm that. It may have to do with the seating position. I do not know exactly. Do not hide the light. In my lamp but the Abblendschutz was there. However, I have him not yet attached to the lamp because as I said, I do not feel blinded.
The old lamp I have two crashes behind me. Once at Glateis on a bridge and once I slipped in a curve. The first time you fall the lamp has jumped from the bracket and risen. The batteries I therefore had to gather together. But the lamp was not defective. Inserted batteries, lid and turned on. Everything OK. In the second fall, the lamp is not even jumped out of the holder. To me she is sometimes even dropped what they survived without damage to take.
For me, these lights are great and I can only recommend.
