The book "World Atlas of Whisky" was all that other books have, and often much better: photos breathtaking, near-exhaustive list of whiskeys that can meet (with photos).
But where the "World Atlas of Whisky" shines, and why I do not regret having bought this book on the 15th Whisky (as I have a lot of regrets about some of the first 14), c is for the technical part.
Instead of a blur-text describing the manufacture of whiskey, the "World Atlas of Whisky" has 3 double-pages of "flow-chart" showing in detail how to make 3 types (technical) Whisky: the Scotch, Pot-Still and the American. And, surprise, after the first or second box we see that they are completely different processes. And following these flow-charts can be seen in some places of the branches like "here for a lighter whiskey down the temperature or on the contrary increase it to a more oily whiskey." A gold mine for those who are passionate and like the Whisky understand "how does it work."
A book that will appeal as the first book of its images and its comprehensiveness, but also a book that will teach many things to those who already have several books on whiskey and thought no longer find anything in an Nth book.
