I have now unfortunately change and the gong devalue my review!
I had bought this Gong because of the previously mounted was broken, the leading through the coil plunger was jammed. So the old thing in the bin and a new sought which has an identical size as possible. Here I am then came across this model here, and lo and behold, it was apparently the identical model like the previously built, the internal structure, clamps, all identical. I just first pleased how convenient drill any new holes, etc.
The gong is installed at the entrance of an apartment, is not so extremely used often, is just not the receipt of a doctor's office. Nevertheless, the gong has failed again after just a few months, unfortunately, after the warranty period. The investigation into the cause of failure is now revealed that the same problem as with the image showed previously exchanged, identical Gong, the jammed plunger. Because to me that seemed strange, then I have researched the reasons for this and have come to the following conclusion:
It happens from time to time that someone does not hit the center button the blades when ringing. In the model used here it happens irregularly that the button gets stuck and attached bell is energized continuously until someone tries again to ring. And as a gong is connected, it is not rattling constantly, but the gong hanging in the tightened position without a sound to give themselves so that this condition can possibly last for very long without anyone is aware of it. This seems to be happening again in this case.
Now the bell is apparently not continuous current resistant, the constantly flowing ringing current heats the plunger moving coil in the course so much that the coil melts the plastic to which it is wrapped! This causes the plunger is almost melted and a one-time such action is sufficient to make the gong functioning. But even worse, the fact that so much heat is generated in that the plastic of the casing can melt fear that this could well lead to a fire in an unfavorable constellation! And since the identical predecessor Gong is obviously failed because of the same reason, must be assumed to have a maximum design Fehlkonstruktion / incorrect sizing. The manufacturer has also refrain from a thermal fuse installed that shuts off the Gong before critical temperatures are reached. This finding enough for me perfectly to the Gong now accordingly devalue:
This gong is completely flawed, even more, the device is even dangerous! Put six! I must now give the lowest possible number of points and strongly warn against buying therefore. The manufacturer should consider whether the unit VLT. bundle should provide a smoke detector.
PS: The Gong is on a standard bell transformer from the same manufacturer (Friedland) powered by 8V ~ and is thus completely within the specification, because it is so not.
