Who wants to stay up and drive legally, like me, is one of the approved self-luminous LED indicator looks at the market. Here my choice has fallen on this self-luminous license plate of Erulux. The LEDs are installed here concealed in the frame and therefore light without glare. The mark is seated protected behind a plastic window that protects the plate and ensures better light distribution.
The LED effect is really crass to simply say the least. I was amazed that in the prudish and just in the automotive sector extremely regulated area of a holder approval / KBA has received approval. At night you fall in good visibility on minimum 500 meters. The LEDs are cool white and let the entire license plate very bright shine. The effect is by no means "cheap" or "unsophisticated". At the traffic lights I've watched so many times already standing behind me driver / passenger in the rearview mirror, the "big eyes" made at the sight of the license plate and interested leaned forward. Who wants to attract attention and wants to be seen well at night this is the place.
Criticism I have with regard to two points:
1. For a normal black plastic frame with a few LEDs off the price is really extremely high. The material costs are expected to be at a small fraction of the retail price. You can pay for the technological innovation that is the hallmark of doubt, royally.
2. The license plate is with "naked" connecting cable supplied with cable lugs for connection. In many vehicles, the connection to the present W5W / T10 base is simple. Here I would have liked more elaborate connection accessories from the manufacturer. I have it solved so I took a T10 plastic base (a T10 LED), the old material removed and then threaded the cable from the car holder and fixed with 2 solder points. Then simply plugged the homemade cable holder into the socket, indicator lights, finished. The cable is, as described in the manual as a solution, past the plastic glass (possibly small notch hone).
A possible second existing car license plate lamp must then be removed or disabled.
Conclusion
The license plate holder is overall a good product. He looks absolutely great from the vehicle, and evaluates this clear. A real "eye-catcher". Also for security bears this in: "overlooked" The probability night from behind to be, drops to virtually 0%.
