Great price / performance ratio - a successful update with LTE and expandable memory

Already in December 2013. I can test the previous version of the Moto G. The smartphone already made it a very good impression. Lots of power, a good software and an attractive price / performance ratio. Now Motorola has again refilled and equipped his Preisbrecher in mid-smartphone market with LTE and a microSD card slot.
I am curious how the updated Moto G beats!

The scope of supply:

The price of 199 Euro is designed by Motorola very athletic. To keep such a price has to be saved to the one or other detail. When looking into the packaging immediately notice that there is not really much to discover here. In addition to the smart phone is a Micro USB cable, a quick start guide "Getting Started" and a small booklet "safe, intelligent, protected" with tips for protecting your smartphone at.
What is missing? Exactly! A power supply has not been resolved, since Motorola environmental protection is an important Anspekt and thus an old power supply is to be reused. When in doubt, order the most directly a suitable power supply. Some traders place but also without addition order in a PSU.
In a headset has been omitted.

Design / Processing:

The Moto G is kept relatively simply for cost reasons by design. The back cover (back) is red by different colors, eg, yellow or blue interchangeable. Overall, quite a lot of plastic is used, what the "perceived processing" but does not detract.
The device is very comfortable to hold and has a dibasic. It creaks or wobbles nothing. With 143 grams, it is no lightweight, but this is also due to the vervewendeten materials.

Display / CPU / GPU / camera / battery

The 4.5-inch HD display with IPS technology provides the user with crisp colors and a super sharp display of images and text. The maximum brightness I would describe as average but adequate. So no major problems should arise even in direct sunlight. Through the built Gorilla Glass, the display is relatively unempflichdlich against scratches.
The combination of the built-in 4-core Qualcomm processor and the Adreno 305 GPU (graphics processor), the Moto G sufficient power for current and future applications. Whether on the Internet browser or with complex games such as Asphalt 8, there will be no jerkiness or delays.
The 5 megapixel camera has sufficient power for a few snapshots, however, is not comparable to a camera in the current high-end smartphones. In good lighting conditions arise beautiful shots. If the lighting conditions but not, so the image quality suffers tremendously.
One shortcoming is that of G. Moto battery capacity is sufficient and competitive in comparison to other smartphones aktellen. In direct comparison with the previous version, the battery life suffers minimal due to the LTE support. But what bothers me is that the battery is firmly installed and can not be easily replaced by a new by the user.

The main new features of the updated version

For the updated version of the Motorola Moto G an additional cost of about 50 euros. The added value for the customer is to expand the store here in the LTE (4G) connectivity and the opportunity.
The LTE support I have tested in the telecom network and was very pleased. The LTE connection was reliable and fast and I had no connection faults or connection breaks. Speeds of 80-90 Mbit / s I could reach. That's perfectly fine. The support of the different LTE frequency bands (800, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600) made a good impression. The battery suffers in comparison with the previous version, not as strong as expected and is therefore still perfectly adequate terms of capacity.
Another new feature provides the option of memory expansion. With up to 32 GB can be the Moto G expand on a MicroSD card. This is a welcome addition when one considers that (etc. OS) only 4.6 GB of 8 GB for the free use remaining after deduction of the system files.
If we're on the operating system that comes with Android 4.4 Moto G and ran into my test consistently stable and without serious stuttering or the like.

The updated Moto G is a super smartphone with the latest technology for the cost-conscious user. No Smartphone has currently around 200 euros so much power, a current software and a good workmanship.
Important criticisms (limited storage, no LTE) were eliminated with the new version.
Compromises must be made when lean accessories, the camera and the non-replaceable battery.
But if you can live with it gets here much smart phone for little money.
