Someone just wanted to draw something else, I think it was Nobuteru Yuuki, and designed Charas with long noses (ski jumps!), So that they could be distinguished at first sight from all other anime. The music of Hajime Mizoguchi Yohko Kanno and is just wonderful, especially "Yakusoku wa Iranai" ("I do not promise" - Opening) and "Mystic Eyes" (Ending). I recommend this CD the "For Lovers Only" (jap. Import). Particularly beautiful voice also Seki Tomokazu ("Toji" from Neon Genesis Evangelion) as Van and Minami Takayama as Dilandau. I've seen many anime, Escaflowne still find the best and will buy me the manga.
