Standing dead is a thriller that mixes the French cunningly plot and humor. The three young historians are lost in futile quarrels and irresistible in their respective research fields and live with a crusty old cop. If the story begins in an original way, the frame then takes a more classical turn, but interest remains strong for the investigation initiated by these friendly marginal. We rather regret that the author does not draw more out of this dilapidated old house, it neglects a little climate of anxiety ... But standing dead still keeps its promise by offering us a moment of reading through engaging characters and suspense that never fails.
