The Sub convinced as all Sonos components with the simple integration into the Sonos Net, press dhTaste, wait and possibly the firmware will be updated automatically even. Done. Except for a power cable, it does not need any additional cables.
You have the sub then only via the app space allocate where to run.
The Design
=========
I compare the Sonos Sub with my devil of the theater series drops the difference in quality immediately. Fine Processing, shiny black piano lacquer, perfect workmanship. For the Sub course costs as much as a whole vicious system.
The Sound
========
In a sub you can say about it very little. It's just only "bass". Together with 2 Play 5 running in stereo composite you can clearly see that the sub bass takes over from the Play 5. The interplay of the components is just awesome with Sonos.
The bass itself is very powerful, so powerful that we hardly can set more than 20% of the volume settings or bass intensity with regard to our neighbors. At 50% volume and default settings for bass already fibrieren almost the windows so gigantic is this Sub.
Conclusion
====
A sub for the price of a home theater system, so roughly, it is if you buy Sonos. Whether this is too expensive must each decide for themselves. I think the technology behind Sonos awesome, except a socket it needs no further cables. The processing is precious, the design and the black piano lacquer let the sub in every room look good. The bass is powerful, mighty awesome to turn up the volume but the can should of left and right have no neighbors.
