I used to have a passive holder from Brodit for an iPhone 2G (without ball joint) -> there's nothing to complain about there.
Then I had a TomTom CarKit holder with a dashboard-head to mount them on the ProClip. That worked just fine with the iPhone 3GS and the 4S, even if you had every 2-3 months tighten the Brodit Ball Stud head, because that hung out just so lax that a correct setting was not possible.
With my iPhone 5 now I have allowed myself this bracket by Brodit:
+ As expected Perfect fit
+ I use the iPhone 5 with a narrow sleeve, this support can be modified by two small screws in width, so that I can use with other covers (without a bit bigger, or)
+ The ball joint is from the beginning very "tight"; once fixed on the hole in the middle because moves purely garnix! I hope it stays that way. And if not: Just screwdriver purely holding and again tighten something
Neutral I notice only that in my Mumbi Grip Cover the input and exposure is somewhat difficult because the sheath (-> Grip) rubs against the plastic. This of course is no fault of the holder and even a side effect, but I wanted to mention it anyway.
I support the I am satisfied so far - it does what it should.
I was skeptical at first, because you can adjust the width - now I find it but not so bad; the mobile exchange or cover change, the probability is high that I have to buy me any new mount, but just can change the width. That's a plus - is shaking nothing and keeps very well.
