The original English version of "The borrowed time", the second volume of Highland saga by Diana Gabaldon can act very much alive by mother tongue watching the scenes of history. Just as in the English translation, it is the detailed descriptions of Gabaldon, the literally pull the reader into the story. Feelings and moods are so accurately described as historical facts. Together with the wit, the draws the native language of the writer according to the English edition is highly recommended. The writing style of the author, I would not classify as difficult as, allowed to venture into this version, even if you're not a native English speaker.
