If you use this lamp with 18350 batteries, it is by far the smallest (length 8.8cm) and brightest lamp with a neutral white light that exist currently.
Currently I am using a Efest Gold 18350 900mAh protected ICR battery, this provides enough power for the "Turbo" mode.
In the short form without Extension Tube Mode be real achieved 930 lumens according candlepower Forum Review in Turbo.
I can also confirm purely subjective in a direct comparison with a Zebralight SC600w II L2 this.
This is according to a similar reviews brightness offer with 1000 lumens, but only works with 18650 battery and is therefore slightly larger than the ThruNite 2c without Extender.
In an outdoor test, I can say the same distance also no clear difference in brightness as brightness and illumination. Only in the scattering and the color value can be slight differences make, although not relevant to me.
In addition, the ThruNite is less than half the price of the Zebralight lamp for the same light output.
Clear the ThruNite is not quite as carefully crafted at this price and also the materials and electronics used are just average but it performs its service without any problems.
The ThruNite 2C can also be operated with normal CR123 batteries in an emergency, but then only to a maximum of 200 lumens due to the lower power of the batteries.
In addition, a belt pouch for the short form, which does not belong usually supplied with a flashlight.
Furthermore, the possibility of extension tube to can also use 18650 rechargeable batteries with higher capacity a very nice feature.
Two negative points there are, however:
- The button can be bad in the dark grope
- The Extension Tube for using 18650 battery must be extremely firmly screwed, so even a contact is made. You have to screw the sections so tight that you get afraid to bend anything, otherwise remains of the lamp!
I can understand why when a point deduction is given, however, the positive aspects for me are clear and mostly make ThruNite 2C v2 to the product with the for me best price / performance ratio currently looking at smaller, brighter bulbs.
Yet to explain the term "neutral white". Most LED flashlights have a cold white light, similar to that of old fluorescent lights that are not very color-fast, everything is light blue / gray. Neutral white light appears to me personally much more natural, as with incandescent lamps or sunlight.
