The "Smart Hub" in which Apps, Web browser, video on demand services, cloud services and other multimedia services are, but I would rather call it experimental. Some apps plunge after a short use from ("Youtube" for example, I might use when it would be stable) and the TV set must actually be restarted - which is not trivial, because it has no power-off switch. Since it is pulling the plug on the back. In addition, entering search terms using the keyboard of the remote control is to say the least a headache.
Yes, firmware update was performed and our Internet connection is fast.
The sponsored apps can not be deleted, I have to apparently life through cumbersome zap through the colorful world of movie trailer and video games until I am where I actually wanted to go.
Update 25/08/2014:
A friendly reader of my review made me aware that the originally criticized by me, very cumbersome search for the connected USB drive in the Smart Hub section through the "Source" button can be abbreviated (with Smart Hub, there were no fewer than write 14 keystrokes!). So I can now program a macro on the Logitech remote control. Because a well-to-use PVR function of the TV was a key selling point, I forgive now 4 instead of previously three stars because the taking of current programs including time-shift (just press the Record button press) is really solved very intuitive. To pre-programming you have to select the program in the TV Guide, then the Enter button for 1 second (the would be easier, but oh well), on "Details" button, then "Programming Recording" option to find , Ultimately you get a clear recording list, indicating the title of all recorded through broadcasts. And since we take practically only in the absence, we do not miss the option to watch TV at the same time and record another program. The LG-disk recorder is certainly scrapped.
Update 1/13/2015:
After a few firmware updates suddenly we noticed an annoying software errors: Some channels offer so to the so-called audio description (AD), with a voiceover to the image shown is reading additional explanations; for viewers with impaired vision or blind definitely a useful feature. Unfortunately now the Audio Language sets the TV every time you turn back to "German (AD)" back, so that there is always the (for us) nonsensical additional narration moves along, which is really annoying. Unfortunately, the TV does not store when you turn off the AD menu. Even if one merely switches the TV program, the audio description always comes back, almost as if this is a non-modifiable default for all programs. My contact with the Samsung Support provided no useful assistance ("Perform a firmware update")., Because even with the firmware of 12 January 2015, the problem is still present
Review Conclusion: TV: full 5 points, Smart Hub including PVR and audio problems. 2 points.
