As I then celebrated 2004 album "Reckoning Night" from. To date, the album one of my favorite metal albums and incidentally is noticed, it is probably one of the best albums of the genre and the best album of the band. Who would have thought that SONATA ARCTICA would inspire me to some extent until nearly 10 years and four albums later so. Because let's face it: Although the follow-up albums all have their moments. Ultimately, it has the tape but more and more entangled and lost in their own experimentation. Expectations for the new album "Pariah's Child" I had therefore virtually none. I did go on the assumption that SONATA ARCTICA have just developed my taste past. But how to say it so beautifully: "In most cases, it is different than you think." "The Wolves Die Young" Readme attention. The album art wonderful, with the classic band logo. Come now, as announced, the big return to old virtues? This is clearly to be answered with a "yes and no". Of course, "Pariah's Child" has not become old-school album. But the songs are again more to the point, sometimes catchy. Total failures, there is no time. The great "Blood" and "What Did You Dou in the War, Dad?" inspire and with "Love" is also again the obligatory ballad, that it felt a bit pale. At least compared to songs like "Last Drop Falls". Standing by itself is "Love" but quite nice. The absolute highlight is the ten-minute long "Larger Than Life". The song skillfully combined all the facets of the band and is just a great song. "Pariah's Child" is probably the best possible compromise between the sound of the last albums and classics like "Silence" and "Reckoning Night" for me. On the latter, the new album is not quite reach, but without a doubt is "Pariah's Child" the best album since said "Reckoning Night".
