Captivating plot, lack of romance

Disappeared Into the Night (Paperback)

Customer Review

From the first pages, the plot is already installed. It is a well-conducted survey, despite the time elapsed since the death of Max. The suspense is sustained, the indices are well dissimilées in history. The only "problem" is the romance, it is very far from the center of this story. It is set well back, we do not feel the characters' feelings, lack of sensuality and seduction game is felt throughout the reading.
The characters are quite endearing. Veronica is a nurse at the hospital, she lives alone and takes care of his father, an alcoholic and embittered man. Despite a dark past, it has become a strong and independent woman. As for zach is a calm and determined man despite his troubled past. This character is little depth in this story, that's a shame. The secondary characters bring a little refreshment especially with the humor of the Frank Rodriguez agent.
This novel is very good at detective story level, sustained suspense, captivating survey, unpredictable outcome, only romance poor.
