Had I ordered two mini-plants for my second home, a Pioneer P1-K and this Panasonic. Since I as a 'big' plant a Pioneer have and thus am very very pleased with JBL speakers for 20 years, my tendency was clearly to Pioneer, even if this is more than twice as much cost as the Panasonic. The Panasonic I ordered, because I always took two mini-plants and to compare, on the one hand because of the low price, on the other hand because of the many very good customer reviews. Both plants I have next to each other up and tested a few days. Operationally, were both facilities equivalent (radio, CD, USB). For me were crucial the USB function, because I do not want to lug my physically thousands of classical music CDs, but have drawn on USB sticks are on the go, and of course the sound. Result: WHILE the Panasonic my 32GB sticks has processed without any problems, the Pioneer has several different 32GB sticks denied (4GB sticks ran). Even more significant was the difference in sound: Even if the sound is not comparable to a large investment and large boxes, the Panasonic delivered a good balanced sound in the bass, treble and mid range so that listening to music was fun. By contrast, the Pioneer was a disappointment: The sound made on 'direct', was just flat and at best bassy. After some adjustment of the ups and downs, it was nevertheless an optimal result in chamber music and as many as a brilliant sound in the high altitudes of Callas. However, when it came to volume and width (orchestra or piano), the sound was flat until mushy. In this respect, the decision was made at the end of clearly: The Panasonic delivered very good results at an unbeatably attractive price! The performance of Pioneer fell short of the Panasonic and for twice as much money. Conclusion: The Pioneer I have returned with a heavy heart and ordered a second Panasonic.
