This book (like others in this series) is first of a very good quality, unbreakable by toddlers and especially "waterproof" because my children (a boy of 3 1/2 years and binoculars 2 years) often drool over. I love these books in the simplicity of the images with little text. We only see the subject on a blank page, here the ladybug. On the first page, we see a little ladybug on a leaf with two small sentences: "Look, a Ladybug This is a bug because it has six legs!". The third page transparent, ladybug covers the entire page. We see the back and on the back belly. This is great for kids! Describes that there are several kinds of ladybugs, how it flies, how it eats aphids, how it mates, how it lays eggs and what happens next. It shows his enemy, the bird and where it spends the winter and after, of course, other insects. My kids love so much!
