I loved this "series" police from the beginning, for me it is more than the novels of PD JAMES, MARTHA GRIMES or DEBORAH CRUMBIE. While it is normal that the atmosphere of these novels change since the hero himself has been transformed by the death of his pregnant wife, and I also loved the first novels following the disappearance of Helen. But unfortunately for the procession of death novels have become a nonsense, an improbability of a banality. What torture to endure for three novels incompetent, and imbued hyper alcoholic ISABELLE ARDERY, the ego and the non Deborah gene, or Dairdre temperamental but always kept the legendary duo LYNLEY-Havers for our happiness. But in this novel there is no real plot, characters processed (poor Barbara became a stereotyped bell, Thomas himself lost between the two female monsters veto and the Commissioner has nothing in common with our beloved hero .. .) lengths (it takes page 270 to see a semblance of investigation and basic reasoning !!) and even suspense attached to this history. But the worst and a writing style radical change strengthened by these ex) pressures annoying Italian. Like many previous speakers I do not know if I will continue to read what has been an immense author. Mrs GEORGE must have lost much of its fans with these three turnips!
