Scales with analysis functions are now available for little money. However, make bad read displays, cumbersome Activate the scale before the measurement or manual selection persons, many of these scales unsuitable for everyday use. What a nuisance falls during operation, is no longer used, sooner or later. The Medisana BS 430 scores with a nice design, a backlit display, an automatic activation, simply by standing on the scales, and (after a one-time setup) automatic recognition of the person. Unfortunately, the associated app is VitaDock + (for iOS and Android) a carelessly assembled knitted piece of software. For me, neither with the iPhone 4S still with the iPad 3, the synchronization works permanently. For each measurement, the Bluetooth connection must be re-established. And when finally data has been transferred, I did not get on the home page of the app this information, but other information (steps, kcal) appears. Somewhere far down on a page can be found then several other superfluous information and the current measured values, there is also a diagram. Unfortunately, the app is almost nothing configurable - you can not turn off what is not needed so. Also useful is only the on-line analysis, so the app only performs the data transfer. For this, however, a wireless balance would be much more practical! Conclusion: Pretty scale, but ultimately useless. Analytical balances with similar functionality without Bluetooth, there are much cheaper. Other manufacturers offer scales with Bluetooth functionality that works well. I have the Medisana replaced by the Beurer BF 800. Although it is still 15 more expensive but works! Considerably faster and offers comfortable app to Active Bluetooth connection (where the measurement results are read out even after the event).
