A few weeks ago I have the original hard drive of the notebook for performance reasons replaced by a SSD OCZ Vertex 4 and stunned noted that now the fan is significantly less audible and also much less revs from its base speed.
!!! The notebook is altogether clearly become even quieter !!! One can still hear the fan, but and if the environment is very quiet noise.
Of course, the notebook has become significantly faster through the disk replacement. All response times regardless of whether Office or particular surfing !!! have become significantly better. The performance index under Win 7 also has a significant increase. Now the graphics are the worst link in the chain (value 5.9).
The original disk (in my case a Toshiba MK5065GSXN) was a performance killer and a "lousy cucumber". She was the worst element in the performance evaluation by Win7. She has brought only bad values even after the expansion with multiple hard drives test tools (to the 60MB / s, make my good plates to 90MB / s) and was demoted to the backup disk in the 3rd member.
=> My only recommendation for this purpose: hard disk noise throw. The Sony such "low-waste" is processed sad, but because you can save without it striking the same well.
Working without UMTS stick with built-in UMTS when I'm traveling I find very good. Since you can not forget the "stupid" stick and you will not stick with it.
Considering Weight
I have no quality problems and may recommend the device after replacing the hard drive.
Why I prefer from a star?
a) Because of the lousy original plate (I would give minus 5 Stars)
b) Because of something sharp unit corners on the front
c) The completely stupid arrangement of fan failure passage in the opened notebook (adequately described on the Internet and arranged unfortunately in the whole series so)
d) screen resolution should be 1600 * 900.
If Sony these points to heart, even further on weight "screwed" it will be really good.
Am looking forward to the follow-up models. So far, however, is for me nothing "more clever" in the market or significantly more expensive.
