Windows old Rating:
CPU - 7.5
RAM - 7.5
Graphics card Aero - 6.3
Graphics Card 3D - 6.3
Old hard drive - 5.9
Now with the replacement of the HDD as storage and the new SSD as a system disk!
CPU - 7.5
RAM - 7.5
And now to my great surprise!
Graphics card Aero - 7.2
Graphics Card 3D - 7.2
It's still the old graphics card, the performance was also improved through the exchange!
Samsung SSD 840 Pro - 7.9
Furthermore, the comparison of HD103SJ 1TB HDD and 256GB Samsung 840Pro
Seq. Read - 79MB / s ------------ 537MB / s (~ 650% increase)
Seq. Writing - 61MB / s ------------ 475MB / s (~ 700% increase)
Rand.Read (IOPS) - 330 ------------ 66475
Rand.Write (IOPS) - 2106 ------------ 46869
This is my first SSD and hope that keeps you well as long as all my old Samsung HDD's, which I still use today as a backup with a "Sharkoon QuickportPro" (eSATA).
The 50 premium over the normal version is easy to get over when you consider that one for
a) high end storage b) 5 years warranty c) gets larger write bandwidth.
Furthermore, there are still "Assassins Creed III" as a bonus until 31.03.2013, which indeed alone on average ~ 30 costs. Just do not forget to write down the serial number before the one required for the free game, I had to develop first again, but went quickly.
I have installed a "Silversonte SST-SDP08" mounting frame in a "Sharkoon HDD Vibe Fixer" that I have otherwise used always for old hard drives.
Since you just need only disconnect the cable and pull out the front without having to mess around in the housing, each time you change a hard drive.
For this purpose a favorable Sata bought 3 cable (50cm) of Wentronic, completely enough.
For ~ 200 you get for time not much alternative, which are the values and warranty period in the area.
OCZ and Plextor has indeed partly 5 year warranty but are usually more expensive and do not bring the write performance.
That's why I find the Samsung 256GB 840Pro with top values + long warranty period is not only the top model, but by the addition of "Assassins Creed III" (-31.03.13) even the "price / performance winner".
EDIT:
Only negative connotation for the download of about 15GB big game "Assassin's Creed III", you have a lot of data to give up, identity card / telephone number and the account of the SSD, so you get the game. Incidentally, I have yet to get the DLC of Assassin's Creed III "The Tyranny of King Washington" (~ 1GB] for free.
EDIT: With the latest version of "Samsung Magician 4.0" that you can download on the Samsung website, you can see the serial number under "SSD Authenticity"!
