After extensive research of various test reports and reviews of Amazon customers I have come to give this camera about 8 weeks ago at amazon. Admittedly I was a bit skeptical about what was waiting for me in terms of quality and scope of services for a camera this price segment. For years I was with the analog Nikon F65 on the road and am still excited about this device. Manual settings thus usual, I could do with the same S6500FD in manual mode first good photos and am after about 2000 photos still amazed at what you excellent results even comes with this "price-dwarf". The dynamic range of an analog SLR camera or the possibilities of a digital SLR of 3000, -Euro-class you are looking for safe vain (but a VW Polo is now in terms of speed and no Ferrari). The operation is menu-driven and sometimes you already miss a key for direct access to a specific function. Should it, however, would make every right of every unit of keys teeming. But almost any literate powerful and can themselves download the Operating Manual for Fuji and before buying even virtually reconstruct on the FUJIFILM website Camera operation of this model to go misunderstandings out of the way. The camera body makes a high impression, (as opposed to far more expensive models of competition) is well in hand and is well thought out clean except for the somewhat hakeligen battery cover. The idea, to ensure the power supply with AA-Mignon is outstanding. Without charging you get in an emergency these batteries to almost anywhere in the world. As absolute tip I can recommend Eneloop from Sanyo, these have hardly any self-discharge and hold extremely long (also here at Amazon available). Personally, I have a set of these batteries made on vacation 430 images (of which about 20 with flash). Well, the xD card is the only storage medium is certainly not the best choice, but the price of a 2GB card to move yourself for H-Type cards even below 35, -Euro. It fit in the best resolution still images 680. Here at Amazon lay in my delivery packaging even a 256MB card in with. The lens hood (not present with any manufacturer at the factory!) Is supplied with each as well as the strap and USB cable. Now to the pictures: The issue 'noise or non-noise' (for some well the purchase criterion par excellence 'shame really) arises after my subjective feeling to ISO400 at all. The images with ISO100 are virtually noise-free, even at ISO200 noise you can hardly guess, until ISO400 it makes itself felt slowly and so you can still live. (I would also like environmentally wash my dishes with water, but only with a few drops of detergent will clean it right 'if you know what I mean ;-). In the separation of white and bright light areas, a hint of chromatic aberration becomes noticeable and also a slight tendency towards purple fringing is undeniable. However, these phenomena I observed also in real DSLRs and even in this discipline the FUJIFILM does not need to shy away from a comparison. Also 6 megapixels are for 30x40cm poster still more than adequate. But that's probably only make for 'pixel counter' and people who like microscopic examinations of her pictures interesting. The automatic modes are taboo for me with regard to the automatic (unnatural) white balance. For snapshots safe for some quite sufficient. During manual calibration, the color mapping is neutral and totally natural for me, and not color-heavy (in whatever direction). The dynamic range of the sensor has surprised me very positively and draws far better in the dark and in the light of the thought.
The electronic viewfinder is not just a piece of jewelry, but the brightness adjustable excellent large LCD scores even more. The speed of the autofocus is a good average. But These many options with respect-of-focus. The optics can with true wide-angle to super zoom (28-300) nothing to be desired and is what the light intensity affects the top third of their class. The tripod thread of metal is sure to please to suffer cuts for price reasons and may well be a decisive criterion for no. A visit to the FUJIFILM website is undecided an absolute tip from me 'but in terms of technical capabilities and the handling of the camera.
Conclusion: for serious amateur photographers who not only 'drauflos knipsen' want real DSLR Feeling looking (without spending a small fortune to pay for it) and also before manual settings are not afraid to make great pictures, is to get at this price nothing better. Who wants to have a pocket clippers and is on the hunt for the most megapixels, is to buy something else, but at the same time to dispense a finely adjustable manual Megazoom (28-300 !!!) and feel for your money in something solid hands keep what is processed substantially thought out and clean.
