The requirement were:
-WIFI
-8 "& Android 4.x
-BT (For printer)
OTG for Canon EOS 5DM3
-Root MGL.
-HiFi Control (Onkyo)
Optional:
-GPS
Camera
-HDMI Out
I got the thing with a provider other than Show piece (2weeks) for 108Eur. But now to the individual points.
In the system there is a 4.1.1 Android with 3.6 kernel
-WIFI:
Wi-Fi is properly in the range of motion I've tested (10-15m) in the house. Unfortunately, only the 2.4 GHz band is supported and unfortunately the bandwidth of 25Mbit user data could not be exceeded (Fritz box 7270).
-8th ":
The system is handy for me and the processing adapted to the price. Here to draw a comparison with Apple or Samsung, which call for a 3 * or higher price, I do not consider productive.
The system comes with an IPS panel and in my estimation the contrasts / colors are sufficient. The brightness can be properly screw up, so that's readable even in daylight the whole shebang.
The touch panel work reasonably accurate and the previous typos were limited. Wipe and launch apps from my observation was good and as far as liquid.
The PlayStore is already included on my device and ran with all the apps I have tried without problems.
The test of streaming video clips (MKV / AVI) via DLNA and NAS was in my view succeed. This video footage was used in Full HD and DTS. The processor / GPU perform decoding without problems, but unfortunately makes the WLAN a spanner in the works, so the material with maximum 16-18MBit / s can be displayed smoothly. The sound is a bit too quiet for unfortunately and the quality corresponds to price + possible speaker size in the device.
Battery life ... My chest here holds a maximum of 3-4 hours with activated WLAN and medium + darkest brightness level. Superfluous Apps (MAIL & Co) have all been disabled. So I'm still halfway compliant. What, however, is not at all in my view, the standby time. The system keeps in standby and up to 3% Wake no longer up and activated WLAN as 72h. The attempts by high estimates and I assume that there are a maximum of 96 hours without WLAN. It is irrelevant whether a WLAN connection or not. The thing fired seemingly permanently at full capacity, the WLAN module.
Charging takes me on average about 4-5 hours, which is made with a sep. Power supply. USB charging is not.
The PSU has 5V, 2A representing a total power consumption of about 40-50W for complete store, with a battery of about 20W.
Vibration functions do not exist in the device.
In addition, the device can not always turn on, only the power button press repeatedly wild can start the crate / if necessary. wake up from standby.
Additionally me so far (4days) the system 2 * crashed during standby wakeup and has all acknowledged with a reboot. The applications keep limits (10 pieces from the store) and those running on the Galaxy S4 mini clean.
-BT:
Version 4.0 will be supported and the connection to the printer ran flawlessly. Whether also the Low Energy Mode will be supported, etc. KA
OTG:
A suitable cable is the same with us and the function has been successfully tested. Here lies the stability of Apps left something to be desired, so that I have this little imagined otherwise. Why is it will show itself in the n. Time.
-Root:
Using a simple "update" root is possible, however, "14-day" test phase due to, not tried.
-HiFi Control:
The app is easy to install and start (Onkyo Integra +), but there is a major shortcoming. In so far all devices, the app ran smoothly, there only the volume can not be adjusted and makes the whole it unusable.
-GPS:
unavailable.
Camera:
The cameras are the qualities her something for Skype in bright light as soon as it gets a little darker dark hour, so who wants to take pictures ...
-HDMI Out:
Exists (Mini HDMI) is currently, however, no adapters since. will be given later.
Conclusion:
For about 100Eur can not go wrong, but at a price called by 177Eur I would expect more significant.
Should further aggravate the crashes and battery life during the test, it comes back again.
