Now the followers of the series are nevertheless also already back more than two years on the shelf.
I have long been waiting for, as the reviews that you find so, are more ambivalent.
But with headphones of course applies:
Read review is silver, hear itself is gold!
The opportunity was favorable.
As will probably be presented in the autumn new Denon Headphones, there the D600 from Amazon from time to time at a bargain price. I bought my for 124.90. Not bad for a suggested retail price of 399!
## Delivery
The scope of supply is plentiful.
In addition to the headphones, there are two cables, a carrying bag with carabiner and a 6.3 mm jack adapter in the box.
Speaking of cardboard: Packaging is noble. In a slip of glossy embossed cardboard is a cardboard box with textile structure and embossed, silver To those Logo.
Inside the boxes is the D600, a bed of bronze, silk-like fabric.
Below that are housed with cables and pocket two small cardboard boxes.
The box is definitely too good to throw away, in him I will the D600 when not in use determined gladly accommodate again.
Where: Prolonged disuse may well not happen ..,
## Processing and Design
Inventory of D2000 yet, so the D600 now almost completely made of little plastic and more plastic aluminum - a real shame.
However, the plastic material used makes a very robust impression. Nothing creaks or wobbles.
The build quality is really at a high level.
The new design, I find not good to very If we focus here on the colorful sound boxes, the 'current popularity.
I stand there holding rather classic design.
The cables are detachable fortunately unlike those of predecessors.
Denon puts two cables in a short with pendant and a long for home use.
The long, textile coated Kable is three meters long, thick, heavy and high-purity copper (OFC).
The short, soft plastic-sheathed cable with integrated remote and microphone is ideal for traveling or to operate the MP3 player or smartphone.
The buttons work properly with iPhone / iPad, Android, I could not test.
## Comfort
First, I noticed that the Denon AH-D600 are extremely comfortable.
Secondly, I was struck by the low pressure and the rather large size.
At the sound of which has fortunately not affect. There are headphones that sound very different depending on the contact pressure.
I hear, however, like lying down and here threaten the D600 due to the low contact pressure but relatively easy to slip from his head. But I have a rather small head (57cm circumference), so that may well be better in others.
In addition, the large mussels then lying to myself on the pillow on, so anything so bad. Move a lot but is not then!
When seated, this disadvantage versa of course to the opposite:
The D600 are here extremely convenient and comfortable.
The size adjustment is almost too easy. This is just like that. I hope not, that the still ausleiert over time.
For some, the smallest adjustment could also be too large.
Mir fits the D600 in the lowest setting but perfect.
The ear cushions are with the best of what I had so far on the ears!
Dick, ultra-soft, saubequem!
My ears vanish completely under the memory foam ear pads, nothing is on the ears.
Perfect!
## Sound quality
As mentioned earlier, I've owned the D2000 and am naturally now eager to see whether the D600 will be a good substitute.
Unfortunately, I have the sound of the D2000 in detail of course no longer in the head, to the
fundamental signature I can not remember well but still.
And also has the D600!
The sound made me excited right after the first few bars of Angels & Airwaves The Flight Of Apollo.
The sound is spatially and brilliant, the onset at about 1:08 bass is punchy and almost palpable! That was what made me an enthusiastic welcome D2000.
After a few bars for me was already clear that the D600 may like to take over from the D2000 with me!
My impressions are as follows:
The sound is clearly towards Bath, the vote is endless fun.
But nevertheless always with a certain HiFi Attitude!
Height:
Very clear, airy and always comprehensible. Cymbals sound fine and authentic, nothing hisses or annoying.
Stick attacks on the Ride dome are very present and clear HiHat figures clearly and accurately.
I think the D2000 was a little sharper in the heights.
In the middle:
Unobtrusive, brave, somewhat withdrawn.
The centers should be emphasized a little more for my taste. Hard guitars, depending on production partly a bit too soft (Volbeat - Lola Montez).
That sounds quite okay, but it's not "in your face".
In contrast: The hammergeil produced new Overkill WhiteDevil Armory saws without end.
Bass:
Fat. Pulsating. Geil.
The bass is the figurehead of the D600. He's incredible, "corporeal". He expresses no end.
Nevertheless, it is always nice contoured and clearly defined.
In my opinion, the D600 is perfect for rock and metal suitable.
From memory to the D2000 D600 a tad doing what I liked so well on bass, again better
Isolation, stage separation:
The isolation from the outside is better than the D2000. In moderate volumes you can hear well, without interfering with its opposite.
The physical isolation from ambient noise is okay, just typical of closed, circumaural headphones.
This makes an active noise reduction system as in Parrot Zik course much better.
For the D600 road for me is anyway not an issue due to its size and low contact pressure.
The stage is large for a closed!
Much larger and more transparent than the momentum or L1.
The D600 is not a neutral studio headphones. Nevertheless, it is perfectly possible to focus on a single instrument, and to pursue this.
Positive noticed is my separation and localization ability in Cymbals - I've never heard before.
## Conclusion
What I then annoyed when I sold the D2K.
By purchasing the D600 this trouble is (almost) completely gone.
I can sound the two not directly compare,
but from memory they sound but pretty similar.
The detachable cable is a successful improvement, the seat is unfortunately still very loose.
The D600 is for me definitely a worthy successor to the D2000, and for my preferred genre Rock & Metal it seems almost perfect to me.
The bass has powerful substance and makes dry printing, the upper bass is slightly emphasized, but never too intrusive.
The highs are very present, but never nervous and shine with a pleasant clarity and brilliance.
By design, I have incidentally also befriended during the test, I finds really good now.
I am pleased to have with the D600 found a more than worthy successor to my D2000!
