Meets requirements, strong buy recommendation

I have an old Philips tube TV that has only SCART inputs. DVB-T, I have received so far about an exotic Receiver Opentel with hard disk and twin tuner, signal is fed from an active indoor antenna with 36 dB gain.

I was satisfied except for the fact that the Opentel receiver continously draws 20 watts from a can with this combination, no matter if on / off. So I was looking for a new receiver, which has a twin tuner and PVR-way and here is considerably more economical.

After a long search on the Internet, including Amazon, and also at Media Markt and ProMarkt, I have now decided for Xoro, namely the HRT 8300, as this is apparently the latest version with better hardware components and an HDMI output ( I can, for example. Then use later when I someday decide to use a new TV).

So I have the Xoro HRT 8300 ordered from Amazon, in combination with a Transcend Ultra Speed ​​32 GB USB flash drive.

Following the existing devices (TV via SCART, antenna) worked without problems. The receiver is very small, so it will fit anywhere in the shelves. After switching on the device takes about 8 to 9 seconds to boot.

After the first time you turn the thing has searched the programs and actually found everything. Only I had even as a starting necessarily on "SCART" from "HDMI / RGB" switch, otherwise everything was drawn on exterm sharp.

The picture is excellent, sound also. Disturbances in reception occur extremely rarely (unnoticed the 2 phones and BlackBerry in 1 room), and if they did, then get only little boxes, but there is no interruption of the sound rather than what was not the case with other receivers.

Switching between the channels is really fast.

EPG like well, works fast and makes solid impression. When navigating the missing information to be recharged quickly.

The recordings on USB stick Fold excellent, no dropouts in the image / audio. 50 minutes recording is almost 1450 MB (ie about 1.5 GB per hour).

But what I lack - the ability to set watching the recordings the bookmarks, so you later from a point further look again at some point where you had stopped. Therefore only 4 stars.

The operation is quite simple for such a complex device that can be seen within a short time without any manual that on the remote control "shortcuts" for most functions are available, such as media players, PVR, timer list etc.
