To make a long story short, if you want to watch DVDs and TV, the picture is completely sufficient and also the rainbow effect occurs (or occurred at least for us) not to. At a distance of 3m, the picture is about 2m wide, a nice size for home.
Especially in films with particularly dark or high-contrast images of the rainbow effect was extremely, (Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter, ...) and even if one has to eventually get used to and can ignore it, do - for Blu-ray that is but something else a quick eyes and head hurt.
We then ordered us to compare the Epson EH-WT5200 - and were immediately convinced. The picture is a little fuller, more "cinema like", but above all no rainbow effect and can be completely relaxed look for hours. The resolution of Blu-ray is also clearly better, in our view, the more investment is worthwhile definitely.
Shortly to volume: The Scrappy is often in both projectors, I personally do not find them disturbing, because we have plenty of other noises in the film in order to drown out the fan. But clearly, quieter would of course be even better. Only you have to make compromises somewhere, at the price.
