Just two days after ordering the Pioneer A-30-K is already in the living room. He shall take my 25 year old Telefunken HA900 amplifier (Made in Germany, very difficult and seemingly indestructible). I am skeptical, because the HA900 has at least 2x150 watts into 8 ohms ... and thus sufficient reserves to my Teufel Ultima MK2. First of all I am, however, impressed by the simple but elegant, almost noble look of Pioneer. Connecting the copper speaker cables with 2.5 mm diameter is a little fiddly, but succeeded after 3-4 attempts. The connections on the rear panel RCA are varied, yet so fitting for my circumstances just in number to. Especially handy I find the recorder in and out RCA jacks. Here I can connect my portable Tascam DR2-D PCM recorder and so take up any audio source directly played or played back from the PCM recorder. Of course, any other arbitrary recording device could be connected. Furthermore, I have a Panasonic BD recorder / player connected as "CD player" an older Onkyo FM tuner, a Denon turntable and a Hama DIT2000 (LAN / Wireless Internet Radio / DAB ... and many more.). Now for the first (of course subjective) hearing test from a variety of sources such as CD, Tuner, Internet Radio, Phono: absolutely convincing !! Great bass .... the midrange and treble for my listening taste absolutely awesome, especially if "Loudness" is turned on. I am very excited about this sound to the devil MK2 and the 2x70 watt amplifier rich all of a 35 square meter room with far higher than sonication low volume. One has to watch out a little, that this sounded strong sound not too much the neighborhood involving ... The Pioneer A-30-K is perfect for me to control via the remote control well in-hand. It does not matter where you directed it. This is advantageous when the device is similar to mine on the lowest shelf. The volume is indeed to regulate only relatively small buttons on the wertig made FB because they are placed exactly in the center but they are tricky to find. Many of the other buttons on the FB you do not need to control the A-30-K; they are intended for other Pioneer equipment. The regulation on the unit goes beyond the large rotary volume control (by the way automatically rotates with control via the FB) very comfortable, although I would have liked a more visible marker on this knob here. With a makeshift small bright mini-stickers I have the now tinkered itself ... My personal conclusion so far: The Pioneer A-30-K is an optically very valuable therefore coming and sound really convincing stereo amplifier, which brings considerable price for this sound into the room. This is really fun. Actually, you no longer need reasonably to have fun while hifi stereo listening. For cineastes Surround 5.1 or 7.1 of this device is of course not intended.
