Thanks to the Vorrezensionen you already knew that the installation can be tricky and you will not get far with easy inserting the CD. The manufacturer's website and the Online Manual do not provide great insights.
Still made me all curious and now is the Print Server as.
The first problems so out of the box:
- Under which IP address / hostname which is the print server reachable?
Very simple solution:
Insert the CD -
- (!) Against the manual to install the Networking USB Server, since the software is called an immediate current address
Then everything goes very quickly and then the server is in 5 min ready (with a non-stationary on the printer list ;-)).
My thanks also go to all those who have previously published advice on the establishment. LPR etc are once set then no longer a problem.
So here once compiled, the complete installation guide (for Windows):
- Via Networking USB Server query the IP of the print server
- Optional: Override via browser and change IP
- Then add a new local printer in Windows
- Select Create a new port
- Select Standard TCP / IP Port
Enter IP address and wait -
- Then the device type selection follows
- Click select Custom and click Settings
- Protocol: Select LPR
- Enter queue name: eg lpr01
- Optional: Enable byte count
- OK
Select and install the desired printer driver manually -
That's it and your printer should work
