Gabriella Cilmi became known in 2008 with her loose-flaky title "Sweet about me" from the Rexona-Commercial shipping water from Amy Winehouse, Adele and Duffy almost overnight. Now to the music: "Superhot" recalls Donna Summers "Hot Stuff", "On A Mission" warned against easy to Van Halen's "Jump". Both tracks come pretty energetic therefore. With "Defender" Gabriella has still packed a beautiful ballad on the album, which, however, would have been better off at the end of the plate. The other tracks are also all faster electro-pop tracks, while not having the impact force of the aforementioned titles, but fit consistently into the sound of the record. Finally Gabriella has still added an electronic version of "Sweet About Me". But this can in no way compete with the original and is thus more than necessary. But it does not bother also. Conclusion: Gabriella Cilmi has this time decided at the intersection of music styles for electropop. The result delivers what it promises. Driving beats, here and there a few borrowings from the 80s and forceful singing, if this often sinks on this disk in the beats. There are also some cliché-laden lyrics, however, go for a 18-year-old in order. And do not forget - the plate is really fun!
