Haptics / processing
The headphones are processed absolutely clean. In terms of "high-quality impression," but remains room for improvement, because "chromed plastic" acts nor noble as to mobile phones to headsets. The time was perhaps fashion 15 years ago. After all, a nice pocket there. Seis drum - the XBA4 package to points in other disciplines.
Comfort / Cable
The Tagekompfort is excellent (with me). With the silicone essays the size "M" sit the handset (for me) very well and isolate ambient noise already very good. This applies even more for the also enclosed attachments with sound-insulating function.
The headphone cord is an "L-shape". The cable of the left earpiece is short. The longer cable of the right earpiece to be performed in the neck. Can you like it or not. What is at least questionable: This is not replaceable cable, is for the listener in the case of a cable break / loose contact stop closing. Although the cable does not make filigree impression, but with frequent use I see some danger in terms of wear.
The Sound
The sound can be described as "tired", respectively. The listeners are not neutral. I have previously listeners "Triple.fi" Ultimate Ears (today Logitech) is one of the player Sony NWZ-639 / Samsung Galaxy S3. When I connected the Sony, I first had to neutralize the voherigen sound settings significantly because the XBA4 have quasi a built Loudness. In the sound spectrum bass and treble seem lifted. The bass is rich and mouthwatering. In particular, mid / high forgive any "bad" mp3 formats: Sometimes the heights of sound XBA4 then metallic. The XBA4 is thus trimmed to "fun". I like that (that's why I had my players sounded technically designed previously in Bass / Treble highlighting by Equalizer). Audiophile fans who prefer an explicitly neutral sound in all positions ... but not happy with the XBA4. Anyone traveling simply fed up listening to music and do not want to analyze treble / mid resolutions to excess - DEM can I SONY XBA4 recommend !!
Well, my hearing impression ;-)
So to sum it (only) 1 star deduction for the non-removable cable and the (albeit preferred by me) but invariably precreased timbre direction "Pop / Rock / Electronica / Dance". But audio books go ;-)
