Most:
- The look is really cool (note the "aluminum" style bars are plastic).
- Micro transcribes my voice very clearly (it made me noticed). But read the notes below before you rejoice.
- You can choose between a record 2.0 Stereo, 5.1 or 7.1. This makes the game quite well in giving a sense of depth. I'm not used to, so I found it a little odd at times. The most annoying is that it does not give an owl made with all, as with some music, suddenly it's painful to have to activate the right choice every time.
Cons:
- This is a USB (but I knew that). That is to say, you will NOT be able configure or adjust your headset with Realtek HD and advanced options, since you do not have the jack red / green for the mic / headphone. I say this because the problems listed below might have been solved through this program.
- The volume is a ABERRATIONS. By the volume of your computer 1% (at least so), your ears are about to be torn. Needless to exceed 5%, you will not have eardrums, believe me. Tested under Mac OSX and Windows 7 with the latest drivers and oldest available on the Corsair website. To believe that they have not even tested their helmet before selling it. This problem is very widely reported on the web (google is your friend), but of course you know it only after you bought the helmet.
- There is a very audible noise and CONSTANT. There are way to reduce the Windows options (not tested on Mac) putting in silence some options (you have to follow a tutorial on the net if you do not find). But the background noise will never disappear. EVER. Even putting the volume on your computer to 0%, you will continue to hear it. The only way to cut this noise is to cut the volume of your computer, but suddenly, you obviously hear nothing, not even your music.
- The microphone has a noise CONSTANT well. There is an option in the helmet program (download from the Corsair website) that can hear you. Select it and you can admire the noise qu'entendront friends on Skype for example. What give them headaches. The only way to lower the (without removing it completely) and using the equalizer that is in the helmet program, but at the expense of the quality of your voice will be somewhat distorted.
- The "ears" of the helmet are extremely large. I like having two half coconut on the ears. I do not like that feeling.
- Quite heavy helmet
- When you press the remote control "Mute" your cable, the light turns red and blinks. It's painful, why should flash ca ?!
- When the computer is off, the light of the remote control cable stays on (not in blue (default color) nor red, but purple). Yes purple. In fact the two LEDs remain lit. No interest apart your user LEDs and consume.
I read on some forums that to reduce the problem of excessive volume, you had to install the drivers v1 (old provided by Corsair). It solved the problem but only temporarily (for some reason).
To reduce the background noise of your helmet (without managing to make disappear), I read that it was necessary to install a program (forget the name). It does not change anything for me, then it was quite complicated to configure. Anyway, it was a shareware and trial duration is limited to 14 days. No interest.
The final word:
When I buy a helmet, I did not want to mess with 15 programs and options to correct its flaws. I did not want to wait for a hypothetical new driver is provided. I say hypothetical because there is no confirmation that the problem will be fixed. So I go back and this article takes my old rotten helmet holding with sticky paper (but that works without bursting my eardrums) while waiting to find a better helmet than Corsair.
Inquire on Google by searching for "Corsair 1500 volume loud" or "Corsair 1500 noise" and you'll see I'm not lying.
