After I removed my 5.1 home theater system with active subwoofer and external amplifier Pioneer years ago I was initially pleased with the "liberated" circumstance. Over time, however, sets itself a certain dissatisfaction in terms of sound technical quality of the internal speakers of the TV's. Now I've been watching for about 2 years the trend towards sound Plates and have come to the realization that these can be integrated Sound Plates on floor units visually better. My TV is a 42LM640S with which I am very happy, apart from the occasional system crashes.
Main part:
The LAP 440 is meticulously crafted and comes in a high-quality finish. With this the following reading is among others in the German language
1. Owner's Manual
2. Connection Guide with TV
3. Extra leaflet "Wireless Subwoofer Connection"
4. Warranty Card
The preparation according to instructions was trouble. I have the signal chain LG Blu-ray player HDMI - selected> LG Sound Plate HDMI LG TV. Control of the Sound Plate works with the main remote control of TV, everything beyond loud and quiet is done with the remote control of sound Extra Plate. On TV the following settings were notwenig:
1. Set the sound mode to HDMI ACR
2. Internal speakers to "off", thereby "SIMPLINK" automatically turns on. (But is in demand)
As a result, the Sound Plate automatically turn on and again with the TV off. It could not be going.
The sound can convince me, depending on the source is to regulate the subwoofer slightly up or down. This is fine in small steps using the remote control. The Sound Plate can also operate without a subwoofer, then sound naturally somewhat weaker (advantage at night, tenement). I'm using the normal sound incl. Subwoofer more than satisfied. A quick scan test with the Polar Express, the scene in which the cocoa is distributed on the train playing the Sound Plate on very punchy. Also, I did not detect a noise or ground hum - I'm very sensitive.
Conclusion:
I had two subwoofers, one for the front system (2.1) and one for the LFE channel at my previous 5.1 system. So a fairly expensive solution. This LAP 440 system fascinates precisely because it can be so easily visually and functionally integrate and sonically for the called price offers a lot. I am glad that I chose for this system. Ultimately, everything suggests that all equipment from LG are in the signal chain and issues and incompatibilities are excluded from the outset. I bought it in the media market under the influence and impression of the Amazon price.
