Commissioning:
The insertion into the home network may or may not be made by WPS. It can also be carried out via the smartphone and the browser or via LAN cable.
The accompanying guide is not very productive, so I got myself out of the Panasonic Download Page (link in comments) Once the detailed manual. In order to insert into the network then went quickly and easily.
The speaker is to be controlled according to Panasonic on the App'Panasonic Music Streaming '(Android). This app is but knitted with the hot needle and an absolute joke. It begins with the fact that within a song can not be jumped in front or back and is even worse in other areas. Thus I uninstalled it and steer the speaker now with the app 'Allplay Jukebox'. Other Allplay apps work without problems.
Features and Design:
The design is compact and the size and weight with the Sonos Play3 equate (Sonos: 2586 g / Panasonic: 2545g). Both have a LAN input, the Panasonic has an aux input and a bass reflex port on the back, the latter can be heard clearly even then.
Those that are available on the top keys are sensor keys that react at the slightest touch immediately.
The Sound:
That's the one thing about a speaker and here is the Panasonic absolutely convincing and earn points. He has, due to its bass reflex tube a very clear and convincing bass middle, treble could be a little clearer, but this is whining at a high level. Its sound is very bulky and space filling. Depending on the song may be the volume does not fully exploit, otherwise it tends a little bit to oversteer. Once the volume is a little reduced, everything is wonderful again.
In direct comparison to Sonos (standing side by side and the same song playing) the Panasonic is minimal dull and bass-heavy. The Sonos is very clear and also in the hills, means he was also not this slight reverberation, which produces surround sound while Panasonic and just not this clearly accentuated bass.
Which sounds better? I've been thinking long and have come to the conclusion that both are excellent. The Sonos is really very clear and overrides even at full volume is not, the Panasonic has a surround sound and a more pronounced bass.
If you listen to any just by itself, each is excellent. Only in direct comparison these marginal differences are to hear.
The app:
As mentioned above, the Panasonic app is underground. As much as I am convinced of the speaker, so I am disappointed by this lousy app. But there are fortunately alternatives.
For those who are interested, I would just like to mention that the Sonos application is a dream. Firmware updates, all music services, management of all speakers, playlists, favorites, last played '. no matter what you want, everything is there and is self-explanatory and easy to all our Android devices (iOS we did not).
Differences between Panasonic and Sonos:
Now a few differences between Panasonic and Sonos.
The Sonos connects not even with the wireless network, it needs a bridge (or a speaker connected via LAN to the network), so that the wireless signal is him forwards. Did he then once every Sonos is however amplifier for each additional Sonos speakers in the house. So it is possible, even further away from the router still perfect reception to have.
The Panasonic does not need this support, it connects directly to the router, but then also works only in the signal range (unless you set a wireless repeater).
The Sonos speaker has no off switch, it will remain permanently in standby, which is with us, he is separated from the wall socket. He has not also an AUX jack. Whether the need for a network speakers to be seen, but my old mp3 player, I can pocket the Panasonic, I had been for a small external speaker.
Panasonic:
+ Strong bass
+ Surround sound
+ Aux jack for non-network-enabled devices such as older MP3 players etc.
+ On / Off switch
+ Connects directly to the network
Weight: 2545g
-neigt at full volume to override
Heights could be clearer
-miserable App
Sonos:
+ Very clear sound
+ Pronounced highs and mids and the bass can hear
+ Any Sonos speaker is wireless amplifiers for additional speakers
+ No oversteer at full volume
+ Excellent App
Weight: 2586g
-keinen on / off switch
-Zusatzkosten By Bridge
Network speakers are ideal for anyone who wants to play music from the network at fixed locations in the home, regardless of whether Internet, PC or NAS. To use it as an external speaker and take from A to B, this is it 1 too heavy, too expensive 2. as sufficient an external Bluetooth Speaker and 3. completely unchallenged.
Conclusion:
I am absolutely convinced of processing, sound and features of the Panasonic SC-ALL3 and can in good conscience recommend it to anyone who wants a good network speaker.
The miserable app should I use in my star award not into it, because there are alternatives, and fortunately it has nothing to do with the quality of the speaker.
