A little earlier helps study the manual. What is not explicitly mentioned: one must always by "Source" button on the remote control first select the desired signal source, even with DVD. Automatic switching is not simply Use. Without remote control the device is practically unusable. Is it so once in two ...
The Story: As a second unit of Dyon Delta 19 replaces a 28-year-old 33cm color TV, still uncomplaining to a satellite receiver performs its duties and occasionally serves as a monitor for classical computers. In addition, it is to be used as a mobile device to camp because it is supplied with 12 volts.
The "TV" starts as a small Linux PC, which takes some time to complete. Owners of simple HD satellite receivers know that. Similarly, the various features that you should deal patiently. Switching speeds are sometimes felt lame compared to better equipment, but therefore ultimately also comes the favorable price.
Satellite and DVB-T reception work fine on stationary antennas when the input sensitivity is not the best. Who a "wet line" for DVB-T used or satellite receiver used an improperly installed satellite system, will not be satisfied.
The DVD player works just as easily as the USB function. There were simply all formats "eaten" and displayed cleanly. Untested I DIVX and similar "mobile formats", as they generally are too high bad and are therefore not used by me.
As a monitor for classic consoles and computers you can use the Dyon Delta 19 as well as a monitor for the PC. Here you have to but the fact be aware that the image signal may need to be re-scaled and high can not keep up with an original CRT monitor or PC monitor. But it is quite good and you can even over longer time well so that "work".
The display is sharp and crisp (which not everyone likes), but not the large viewing angle, the one is used to mark equipment. But for two gamble in front is no problem :).
In mobile use has been shown that you can not achieve much with a simple DVB-T antenna. Where the laptop with DVB-T stick and magnetic antenna on the roof of the car found 40 TV channels and 28 of them properly receiving, it brings the recipient in Dyon to 8, are received of which 4 clean. How the case is with the mobile satellite reception, I have not tested, but should probably be similar.
Analog TV can of course, lacking only at stations here;).
Sometimes you feel (n and woman) a little overwhelmed at handling the many menus, the manual is not always helpful. Patience, sense and the right-click on the remote control lead but then the desired result.
The Amazon price of 199, - Euro goes for this device in order. Overall, a device that is versatile because of its many options. And as mentioned at the beginning, please do not compare with high-end models.
Addendum 1:
And now a downer. Since the day before yesterday "spins" the device. Actually, should the control LED will light up red, but this only happens sporadically in standby. When lit, the device can turn on you most. Today went almost nothing. Amazon will send a replacement unit. I sincerely hope that this is a "Monday Macke" and does not refer to the whole series, because in the short time I've learned to appreciate it.
Addition to Amendment 1:
Also in the second unit came after a few days to the same effect. This time I have communicated extensively with the technical support via email and telephone. Apparently it was saved at the device and the power supply are internally weak components have been used, which does not tolerate, when the device is connected via a socket safety edge. But that was necessary for me, because the current system in the old house here has no protection against surge / lightning.
The very competent service has me explained the details and asked that now 2 device does not return it on Amazon, but to send for Warranty Repair at Dyon. It should "stronger" components are used and be the instrument within a week back. The fault was probably already known. The service worked perfectly!
Addendum 2:
The device "enhanced" was now, we have taken it with you on holiday, which it has survived without complaint. The frequent off and plugging in the external power supply has it survived without complaint. DVB-T function satisfactorily.
Addendum 3:
Now we have become courageous and have installed the equipment in the motor home and take it along on a longer trip. The tests before departure ran flawlessly.
Supplement to Supplement 3:
The unit has done the last 8 months in RV uncomplainingly his service to DVB-T antenna and satellite antenna. With the power supply there were no problems, regardless of whether 12 VDC or 240 VAC. Recordings via USB (Video & Photos) ran flawlessly. As a monitor for the netbook and an Atari 600XL it has worked flawlessly. Only the internal DVD player bitchy sometimes when reading the discs. A short finger tremolo in the backplane puts things right, if he no longer wanted to work here must again approach the service.
