From their first concert at the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival Jethro Tull were equal record a DVD and a double CD. Since these were produced by the festival organizers in their series "Live at Montreux", there is no bonus material - on the other hand lack the interview scraps that link to "Living with the Past" (DVD) between and on one occasion during a track the listening experience so störten.- Sonically convince the shots do not have to be as a layman, would have only the sometimes large differences in volume between songs. Audio options are PCM Stereo, Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS Surround Sound.- The scenery is unfortunately poor (shining diamonds) and also lack the formerly so famous Tull quirky costumes. For this, however, the musicians compensate with humor, even non-verbal. The music convinced over long distances, in particular the hard rock interpreted "Hunting Girl" - the best live interpretation of the song that I've ever heard. Martin shines at the "Fat Man" on the flute. By contrast, "Beside Myself" remains flat, "Budapest" was mutilated and it stretched a long boring fadeout, "My god" is initiated by the "Flying Dutchman" intro and lags significantly behind the 1971 studio recording. For inspire "Nothing is easy" (even though Ian has the interpretation not changed in years); "Living in the Past" takes us in an interesting new version compared to the "New Jig" sounds good (only the dancing rabbit is missing) and just to "Aqualung" and "Locomotive Breath" feel human, that Jethro Tull still before a giant fun, playing together music and present the ancient classics for the umpteenth time. At the end (not in the directory: "Protect & Survive" and "Cheerio"), there's the obligatory balloons and man on the DVD or CD Player with the conviction: This purchase was worth it!
