For my usage this docking station is perfect. I read SATA 3.5 "on my Mac as I do from a USB key. The disc is inserted vertically and the whole" reader + disc "preserves a very good stability. The extraction is facilitated by a lever, which facilitates handling. Of course, I only use this disk for storing data, I have not tested for IDE drives (probably a little less convenient) and used my drive as a boot disk.
After initial formatting, the disc is recognized immediately, copies are fast and playing such videos is done without pause or slowdown.
I am very satisfied with the product.
