Cooling by single-tube technology is like a race: it creates the device quickly to get the air in the room and the amount of inflowing cool as the amount the room heats up again resupplied air? Because results from the operation tube via a negative pressure in the space that conveys warm external air into the room.
In a sealed window (z. B. with AirLock) warm air flows mostly through the room door (s) from the hallway or another room to and mixes with the cooled air.
Advantageous for the cooling capacity is certainly a wall connection. But a wall opening, I did not want to make. I chose the sealed window (from Hornbach for 29.95 euros), because the air is a little cooler in my hallway ;-)
On hot weekend I managed to press the room temperature of 30 ° C after several hours to about 26 degrees at 38 degrees outside. Because the air is dehumidified something from the air conditioner, I still felt the 26 degrees some fresh / pleasant.
However, I have in between inserted device breaks because the air conditioner is not just quietly works: at my place in 1.50m distance I have it are at running notebook with an app about 50 dB (A) measured (without device without TV about 25 to 30 dB (A).
In the bedroom I cool about two hour before going to sleep, the temperature down a bit and then turn off the device. For us it is to sleep too loud.
My Conclusion:
-----------
The glossy ibis device is a handy device with a good price / performance ratio for the casual, mobile use.
Wonders in terms of cooling capacity should not be expected, because the cooled air from the device mixes with the inflowing warm or hot outdoor or indoor air.
If I stay in the apartment, I'm going to seriously consider, however, to have to install a split air conditioner fixed. Whose performance is higher and more efficient, as the air is circulated only in the room.
Then I can with an outdoor unit supplying two indoor units and air condition as living room and bedroom at the same time. According to the manufacturer, the indoor units come in quieter level to 20 to 25 dB (A). Then you can sleep, even during operation. Of course, this is quite an expensive solution.
