Ryan McGarvey is young guitarist of the past few years for me. What and how he plays is unique and can be easily called in a block with Bonamassa and Co.. His latest work stands out effortlessly from the crowd of blues rock albums from because one notices him play as he left, loose, yet deeply rooted in the blues tradition exactly what he plays and how he sees fit. "Memphis" opens the disc, and even here you notice immediately how this young man realized his ideas. Slightly more than 4 minutes guitars are distorted here at its best and the chorus no longer be a going on. The official video for this is well worth seeing because it shows him exactly where the music at home is Memphis just !! I want to and can probably not imagine any song here, but simply say should Those who have heard of him to buy the new disc. It has earned itself again really good handmade music to listen. And Ryan has earned that my listening to his music and telling everyone what they're missing if they do not know him.
Clearly 5 stars !!!
Update: After I have the CD now repeatedly listened intensely, I would pull almost a star. My initial euphoria has become a little more sober. The production is still advised etws too smooth. I miss since (except for Memphis) a certain roughness and dirtiness in the songs. His teammate Sam Miller on bass and Logan Miles Nix on drums seem to me a little too short in production. The songs are all composed and played really well, but so And the CD includes the song unfortunately as it was not on the debut album Forward In Reverse "Mystic Dream", and on Redefined "Prove Myself".
