Predictable Abenteuerfilmchen with lots of action scenes to modern cut and relatively little action. Here again another low point for the former sometimes really great Nicolas Cage and Hayden Christensen, who I really liked in "Star Wars" and also in "Jumper". The whole lacks sufficient depth and seriousness to be a drama, there is a lack of originality and ingenuity to be a real adventure movie and a lack of freshness and wit and to wrest the movie really funny pages. So the bottom line film itself takes too seriously and for me it is simply told to "small". Ultimately, a film for a DVD night when you do not even a film with unpredictable surprises wishes for a maybe totally unpredictable way past day, but clearly know who is good, who is bad, who is still alive at the end, and who on the way, unfortunately, fall by the wayside.
