Unfortunately my 3Gs does not fit with sleeve into the holder.
All the apps to the internal GPS receiver A from the iPhone 3Gs
access to benefit from the receiver.
Whether: Googel maps, track recording, geocaching, etc.
Since I also have an iPhone the first hour (ie 2G), this also applies to the device with no built-in receiver !! So if his old mobile phone with a navigation software
(Eg as a second unit) would like to take further should strike here.
To itself the software from Navigon on my 2G and 3G, as the TT software and Tele Atlas maps no longer like them.
Here Navigon is considerably more (keyword: Traffic Live).
Whether this projection may be reversed again, I doubt it.
Have parallel to the combination TT Holder & iPhone 3Gs & Navigon TomTom Go 720T is a tried and am totally convinced by the combination with the iPhone.
The old TomTom 720T I gave my daughter and I am glad only one device in the car to have.
The coupling via Bluetooth takes just seconds, microphone and speakers are acceptable for the size. Unfortunately, the volume control is placed unfavorably (behind the iPhone).
Voice quality and volume sufficient in a normal car. Open in a convertible, however, only up to about 80km / h to use. The AUX output provides the ability to appropriate consumer music forward. Unfortunately, the voice output of navigation instructions is not available at this output.
The build quality is back to classical devices from the same manufacturer something.
Completely incomprehensible is the lack of an AUX cable in the package.
What might such a Kable costs for a major customer as TT in purchasing? Too Bad.
Even the included charging cable to the exotic mini USB angle plug acts EHR something cheap.
Summary:
Ideal complement to the iPhone (especially for 2G), handling quick, easy, convenient, hands-free function acceptable, much better GPS reception, other apps (Navigon, etc ..) to benefit from the additional receiver.
For vehicles where the windscreen is far from the driver
(NewBeetle, Twingo, Transportation ect ..) is the iPhone screen might be too small.
Power 4 stars, 1 star deduction for the missing AUX cable and the cheap-looking charger cable.
Cost: Holder + Navisoftware = 160Euro (Need at least) with Europe maps and Traffic Live sometimes even close to 200 € but there are also great standard Navis
So everyone has their own rhyme makes this combination!
