I bought this book thinking find detailed training plans that would allow me to progress in my road races, especially the 10k. What was my disappointment As my reading. Indeed, the latter is more suited for those wishing to go "sport-health" instead of "sport-performance." The author does not provide enough data to those who want to progress at the running with some definitions (VMA, FCM VO2max ...) than any runner with a little experience knows necessarily. Also the training plan over 12 weeks confirms my statements on the specific type of runner.
