The price is under ten euros really great and many times cheaper than comparable equipment in the pharmacy.
After unpacking the handle makes initially a very high-quality impression, as he as promised is made of solid steel, thereby naturally also has a certain weight and can be bent in any way. Manufactured he is a part, which accounts for any material transitions as weaknesses.
The individually bagged blades see visually look the same as with my old planer. My delivery contained very sharp blades, so I in my case anyway can not confirm other reviews regarding blunt blades.
In this respect, everything was really well when the handle would not be so terrible manufactured imprecise. This occurred to me the first time when you insert the first blade on: The support for the blade was barely starting, and she was once on, they could no longer be put on. On closer inspection of the head to me then noticed that this was wrong - the upper part of the plane looked to the right bent out. However, he was not a millimeter straighten - not under a lot of effort - because the planer's very massive and hard.
And precisely because it is not flexible, this inaccuracy must already Originated in the production. By leaning and crooked head, it is almost impossible to insert blades. Meanwhile, I've figured out how this can be done reasonably, but I have every time again to be very careful that the blade does not sit wrong at the end. Unlike my old planer you can insert very wrong with this blade that is because it has too much play in the bracket. Perhaps this is also associated with the fact that the plow is made so imprecise.
A further disadvantage is that the head is bent too far from the handle - probably also a problem in production. The strong inclination of the head, the blade sticks out, which you can very easily cut. A simple "slide" over the skin is not possible. Had the head like with my old planer easy flat, this would also be no problem.
So I suspect that the callus itself comes from China and only the blade in Solingen are made, as the quality between blade and planing but greatly diverges. An inscription except, however, "stainless" on the handle does not exist (the blade is "Solingen").
Despite the low price, I would therefore not order this Hornhauthobel again.
