Was important to us that we can combine our newer devices via HDMI to the receiver and even a Phono input for our old record player is available. The RX V771 has 6 HDMI inputs (one at the front) and 2 HDMI outputs. The HDMI connections conform to the current standard of 1.4, one of the two HDMI outputs Feedback channel capability, so that we can connect with just one HDMI cable to the receiver our Toshiba LED TV.
The receiver installation is relatively simple: connect devices + boxes, calibration via OSD speakers with the supplied microphone and off you go. All other settings can also be easily done via on-screen menu. It should be noted only that the HDMI backchannel is factory set to AV 4 (you need because the TV sound, although is also in the included manual, but exists only as PDF).
Otherwise, you have endless possibilities with this device I've tried for the most part still not at all and I'll hardly use in the future. What I personally important:
- TV: to work with me on the HDMI port and can be switched on via the receiver on or off,
- Blue-Ray:'ve to the receiver also gained the appropriate player from Yamaha (BD-S671), is a visual delight and fits technically of course also very good for RX V771,
- Radio: I use now really only over the Internet, the receiver can be very easily via iPhone app control, you could completely dispense with the remote control in normal mode: Station selection, volume, Eingansquellen, sound programs all goes to the iPhone .. . In addition, the can also operate the BD-S671 with the same app fully,
- Turntable: thanks to the phono connector so there is no problem,
- IPhone: via USB (optional via iPhone dock) you can comfortably use the music library on iPhone, title, artist, etc., are doing in the receiver's display is displayed and all functions of the iPhone, you can use the remote control,
- PC:'ve also got an acer revo via HDMI connected to the receiver (previously had still a separate audio cable is required - you no longer need now of course)
Conclusion: Anyway, I'm very pleased with this acquisition and could probably even more write to this receiver. A little tip: in [...] there is a very detailed review with many photos.
