Not just a sucker surface ..

At first glance, this device looks like an unassuming, buoyant coarse filter. Must he not be.

2. The thin, black air transport hose inside of the skimmer is made of thin-walled, for my taste too elastic (and therefore easy to clogging) rubber hose.

3. The mobile float function I regard as scrap, as this skimmer only too happy to "hang" wants hot, creaking drives on the surface, it should accumulate somewhere. Here is the danger that he often drives to the mouth at the edge of the pond and virtually no skimmt.

BUT (and now come only once my Tune tips):

to 1. Can the mats (from fairly coarse foam) cut themselves cope. Works flawlessly.

2. Is it possible to, for example, with small, stable hoses, a T-element the other two air voids (because this skimmer has a floating element per "air-intake-pore") raise additional air power. 3. Is it possible to 2 thread fishing line so the skimmer tie that it works optimally and stable. Throw in the tip, the skimmer align so that the surface flow of the pond is used optimally. This all sounds complicated sure miserably, clear. But when you look at the result, it looks quite different.

During the day auftreibende algae, reed leaf, flowers, pollen and and and are filtered out. I used hardly the net. The water is clear, because nutrient intake is minimized, coarse and fine dirt is filtered out. The gas transport out of the water in the water (and vice versa) is accelerated, especially at high temperatures, the solubility of gases (such as oxygen) change greatly in the water, which is a blessing for the critters in the pond.

The ice-free holder function will be tested this winter, I'm excited!
