On reading the blurb was left to me directly the heart are. A single parent? How? What? Where was Mark?
So I went on a journey into the soul (or rather the diary) an adult Bridget Jones, now 51 years old. With two children and no husband (why, I will not tell here. No Spoilers!).
I too have become since the publication of the first book older, my life and I, we've changed. That would fit, I thought.
Did not do it, however.
Bridget is still permanently the (stupid) questions that it has set itself already over 10 years ago. Funny, I have over the years a lot of things that used to absolutely important and / or SOOOO embarrassing today simply do not care.
But Bridget is still extremly important what others think of her. So important that they check every minute if she finally has Twitterfollower. no she did not. Why, she wonders, and comes to the realization that it is probably unpopular and all the other Twitter users to replace just about their unpopularity on Twitter
She is a single mother of two children, but is not able to program the remote control for your TV, take the children to school on time to network with other moms without stupid comments, to know where the fire alarm is turned off, or even their daily lives to master
Then Daniel comes back into play. you remember? The narcissistic boss of Bridget, with whom she had a brief summary, but it was cheating and the archenemy of Mark Darcy was? Now, even in love he is still, but he is now the godfather of their children! WHAT ??? Yes, Mark and Daniel have settled their old feud after the birth of their first child and made him the godfather
But otherwise everything is the same between Daniel and Bridget. He speaks Bridget (since their marriage actually Bridget Darcy) still with Jones and asks her if she carries the Mamischlüpfer Even the guy has not grown up.
In addition, it is much to puke on the first date or farting in yoga. And also you can learn more about lice than had ever dared to dream.
I could cite many more examples
What I felt while reading? Fremdschämen!
And I was sad.
Bridget Jones ~ 15 years ago was disoriented and naïve, consumed by self-doubt, but full of confidence that all would be well. She was a lovable Chaotin.
Bridget Jones today continues to be disoriented and naïve, consumed by self-doubt and, unfortunately, unfortunately, a pesky Chaotin which has aroused no emotion in me. To me it was totally regardless of whether they increase or decrease if a Toy boy or an elderly man at her side, whether their film project will be implemented or not. This left only one emotion: regret to have touched this book.
Helen Fielding has unfortunately missed the opportunity to have Bridget grow up. Although they tried at the end of the book, but there is then nothing left to save. Hopefully this is the last book about Bridget Jones!
Conclusion:
Who loved Bridget Jones in their 30s, it retains the best so in memory and makes a big circle around this completely unnecessary successor.
