This celestial body would disrupt the subtle laws of gravity of our system by threatening to irrevocably upset the celestial mechanics of the planets of the system.
Around this threat the author runs a fairly rich universe with characters who confront tangible credible ways to this formidable threat. To do so, some settlers will exceed the ambiguous personal relationship they have with Mother Earth, which is far from perfect and exemplary society.
