Linksys continues to market excellent wireless routers. I have a WRT54G router (v1.1) since 2005. I replaced with this new WRT160N router (version 1.1 at Amazon acquired in September 2008). I'm still happy with this brand. The material is really on top. For cons, the firmware provided by Linksys is not at the alternative firmwares which are available on the Internet in terms of functionality. On the WRT54G, I installed Tomato firmware (currently version 1.21) which is great to set the "Access Restrictions" and "QOS". Unfortunately, this firmware is not yet available for the WRT160N; so I installed the V24-SP1 version of dd-wrt, which is also functionally very rich, but less interesting to me than the Tomato.
*** Warning: flashing the firmware is still to achieve with caution in order not to HS your router and also to prevent voiding the warranty. Do realize that if this flash features the Linksys basic firmware are not suitable for your needs. ***
In summary: the WRT160N: a good wireless router with basic firmware provided by Linksys and very interesting evolutionary possibilities with alternative firmwares available under the GPL (and therefore free) on the Internet.
