Eugene McGuinness rages on his new solo album lyrically and musically: he sings about milkshakes, houses painting and chrome heart. McGuinness mixes styles mixes modern hooks with traditional pop and rock. McGuinness so creates 11 likeable, catchy indie pop songs, the rock component here and there the upper hand as "Godiva" or "Black Stang".
Mc Guinness' role models for a Britpop bands in the style of Oasis About Fathers and secondly their role models and father figures Beatles. Driving, rock rhythms and catchy melodies alternate and thus ensure an almost unclouded listening. "Almost" untroubled because some songs like "Immortals" or especially the final track "Fairlight" the whole fairly high level of the album, unfortunately, can not keep.
