First, talking about the construction of the book. The book begins in 1911 seems til Wales where we meet a miner's family. Can we move forward in time, we change city, country, we meet other families. 5 families in total, 5 cities, 5 Country: Wales, lAngleterre, Germany, Russia and finally lAmérique. So we are following these families, their views and their feelings from 1911 to 1920. Follett did an incredible job for us to fly all the facts of the war. Through this mix of characters we can understand what was it in each of these countries before / during the War. But Follett does not stop there, not as if it wasnt hard enough, it also ensures that the destinies of the characters meet, mingle enemies, lovers, friends, they all become linked for whatever reason. And that is wonderful.
From beginning to end I have been invested in each character's story, I am attached my, i felt the emotions of everyone, and I have been invested in each choice, speeches, opinion. In short I was part of history. Jai rocketed during the First World War. And I must admit that it's been almost a week since i finished the book and sometimes I think back to certain passages of the book, this is a thing that marrive only very infrequently, usually I open a book, I saw fully a When closed, I move on. But this time I can not, the characters stick to my skin.
And I learned so much! I know that this is a work of fiction, a work of fiction but certainly on a background of true facts. I loved every minute of my reading. Really, I recommend everyone to read this book. And i can not wait to read more.
