The Chamber (Paperback)

Customer Review

The Chamber is definitely a good book, pleasant to read as well written.

The story is simple: a young lawyer tries by all means to get out his grandfather, a former Klu Klux Klan, the death row. Grisham touches on sensitive topics such as racism, and the question of the death penalty, and describes the political and media circus-judicio foregoing execution. We feel he has done a real research work at best to stick to reality.

But then: Grisham describes as a lawyer would do: cold and aseptically. This story lacks a bit of emotions and human feelings. It is finally a little disappointed, because instead of what could have been a masterpiece, Grisham gives us just a good novel. Too bad.
