The Base Camp as planning software is software-technically on the state of the nineties. No comparison with Google Maps.
Time simply enter a route and schedule is for Puzzle.
The update (and I do this for 4 years now) lasts on average 2 days. So better planning a weekend if you want to update the map.
With my line (net about 10 Mbit / sec) it takes 6-8 hours to 1.5 - 2.0 GB to load !!!! And if nothing hooked. Otherwise everything starts all over again.
Then again the same time in order to install the updates. If you have then understood how all the different software packages (Base Camp, MapInstall, Livetimeupdater, MapManager, Road Trip, and webupdater) function.
Intuitively, it is to use nothing. Performance is another way.
I will soon try other devices. And if the software is not better is that old card back into the tank bag.
Garmin software is a reason not to buy Garmin devices more !!!!!
PS: Freezing and independent restart is also for four years already present.
Love Garmin: Swaps your entire software development. Look at the smart phone manufacturers how it should go.
